Authorities are conducting an extensive search for four inmates who recently escaped from the Perry County Correctional Prep Center in Uniontown, Alabama. The escape took place on the morning of May 30, 2026, and was reported by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.

The inmates have been identified as Marquavious Billingsley, Jaden Christopher Maxwell, Johnny Dave Harris Bush Jr., and Kevin Gunn. Law enforcement was alerted to their escape at around 1 a.m. local time on Saturday. The specifics regarding the escape circumstances have not been disclosed at this time.

The Perry County Correctional Prep Center, known for its Parole and Probation Reentry Education and Employment Program (PREP), housed these inmates under an arrangement with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department. The inmates are facing various charges including murder, first-degree robbery, breaking and entering vehicles, first-degree escape, first-degree assault, and promoting prison contraband.

Perry County Sheriff Roy Fikes emphasized the primary concern as the safety of local residents. He urged anyone with information about the escapees’ whereabouts to immediately contact 911, cautioning the public not to approach the individuals. Fikes indicated that deputies, along with other agencies, are actively working to apprehend the escapees, with an ongoing investigation addressing the incident.
