All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Willow Nightingale has given up her TBS Championship following an injury. This injury also prevents her participation in the Owen Hart Tournament. This development was revealed Saturday on the show “Collision.” The announcement included plans for a new champion to emerge in a “Survival of the Fittest” match, marking AEW’s first use of this format.
Survival of the Fittest, typically a Ring of Honor event, will feature a multi-person elimination format. Participants face elimination upon being pinned, with the final competitor standing as the winner. Last year’s Supercard of Honor included a similar match for the women’s world championship, with Athena securing a victory.
The new TBS Champion will be determined on the July 1 episode of “Dynamite.” Leading to this, six preliminary matches will identify the competing wrestlers. Willow Nightingale notably held the TBS Championship for 140 days. Her reign began after defeating Mercedes Moné at the “Dynamite: New Year’s Smash,” marking her second experience as titleholder.

Support for Takeshita arrived as “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong joined the fray. This dramatic encounter concluded as “Collision” went off the air.
