President Donald Trump announced plans to nominate Todd Blanche as the permanent Attorney General. This decision follows Blanche’s interim leadership after Pam Bondi was dismissed in early April.
The announcement came in a video shared on social media by Dan Scavino, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff. In the video, Trump stated his intention to nominate Blanche for the role permanently. This announcement was made during a dinner event at the White House.
Trump expressed confidence that the nomination process will proceed quickly. He instructed Dan Scavino and others involved to expedite the process to ensure Blanche assumes the permanent role.
Blanche has been fulfilling the duties as acting Attorney General since Bondi’s departure. Trump made clear his trust in Blanche’s capability to lead the Department of Justice permanently.
