Caitlin Clark played a significant role in the Indiana Fever’s 83-71 win over the Atlanta Dream, despite facing a personal challenge. During halftime of the game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Clark was unwell and had to vomit. Despite this, she emerged strong in the second half.
Clark shared with reporters after the game, “I haven’t puked that much in a really long time. But then I felt fine. I felt light. So, I was running around feeling good in the second half, but I feel OK. Obviously, I’m losing my voice a little bit. But I’ll be good.”
In the game, Clark contributed 17 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. This performance secured her a spot in WNBA history, as she became the fastest player to reach 150 points and 50 assists in a season, a milestone she also hit in the previous season.
For the Fever, this victory came at a crucial time. It halted a two-game losing streak and improved their record to 5-4. Recently, Clark and head coach Stephanie White drew attention following a viral video showing a heated sideline exchange.
Clark emphasized the importance of self-improvement, stating, “A lot of people have called and asked me how I am, and I said, ‘What do you mean? I’m great.’ I think a lot of self-reflection from everybody this week, like look yourself in the mirror and find ways to get better. That’s certainly what I did.”
Looking forward, Clark aims to maintain her positive momentum as the Fever prepare to face the New York Liberty. The upcoming game is scheduled for Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
