The arena has recently been highlighted as a potential venue for her upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce. Swift sported a blue T-shirt with ‘Stevie Knicks’ in orange lettering, sitting courtside on Wednesday night beside actor Ben Stiller.
Singers Este and Alana Haim accompanied her, donning Knicks-related shirts that read ‘Knickole Kidman’ and ‘Knickleback.’ They were joined later by their sister Daniella, as the group witnessed an astounding comeback. The Knicks overcame a 29-point deficit, claiming a 107-106 victory thanks to OG Anunoby’s tip-in with 1.2 seconds remaining. Swift celebrated by waving a rally towel before leaving the court area.
Speculation about Swift and Kelce’s wedding plans has intensified following their engagement announcement last August. Reports from TMZ and the New York Post’s Page Six suggest the couple will marry at Madison Square Garden in early July. Despite their connections to cities like Kansas City, Nashville, Cleveland, and Rhode Island, the Garden remains a rumored location.
The star-studded event on Wednesday also saw celebrities like Tate McRae, Hailey Bieber, Timothée Chalamet, and Spike Lee in attendance. Swift and Kelce had previously attended Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals featuring the Knicks and Cavaliers, near Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where Kelce hails from. The duo also attended an NHL Stanley Cup Final game last year in Sunrise, Florida.
Madison Square Garden wedding rumors are yet unconfirmed, with no comment from Swift’s spokesperson. The arena’s event calendar from June 29 to July 6 shows no entries, fueling further conjecture. Swift’s history with the venue includes a performance during her ‘Fearless’ tour in 2009 and celebrating her 30th birthday at iHeartRadio’s ‘Jingle Ball’ on this prestigious stage. She has since moved to larger venues, performing her Eras tour at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
