An Oklahoma teenager is in critical condition after engaging in a perilous social media trend called the “Benadryl challenge.” This trend involves consuming excessive Benadryl doses to fight off drowsiness and experience a high, which has led to several hospitalizations among children.
Fifteen-year-old Leah Presson is currently in an Oklahoma intensive care unit. Local news outlet KFOR reports that tests have indicated she has no brain activity. Leah’s father, Richard Presson, expressed his concern: “I don’t even want to think about a funeral because I feel like there’s still hope and everybody’s like, giving up too soon… I believe in miracles, that she’s definitely a miracle baby.”
He also stressed the importance of education. He stated, “I just want everybody to be aware of where they can educate their kids. But these challenges are just silly, and they need to be educated so it doesn’t happen again.”
