Harry Styles Delights with Orchestral Performance at Meltdown Festival

On June 16, Harry Styles offered a unique orchestral performance at Southbank’s Meltdown festival. The 32-year-old artist, known for his hit ‘As it Was,’ took a moment from his 12-show ‘Together, Together’ residency at Wembley Stadium. He collaborated with composer Jules Buckley and House Gospel Choir to present his solo work to an eager audience at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Center, U.K.

Styles added a new dimension to his latest album, ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally,’ by performing it with an orchestra. He also revisited his earlier compositions and surprised his fans with a rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water.’

Styles expressed his affection for orchestral music, acknowledging its intimidating nature for someone who cannot read music. He said, ‘I met Jules and we worked together, and I’ve never felt so welcomed into the space.’

The intimate event is part of Southbank’s Meltdown festival, a week-long celebration that began on June 11. This festival showcased a diverse lineup from indie, jazz, electronic, to pop artists, curated by Styles himself.

In a statement to ‘Billboard,’ Styles reflected on the festival’s significance, saying, ‘Music is my life; every artist involved means so much to me, both as a fan and a musician.’ He also emphasized hosting legendary artists and new talents that inspire his creativity.

Harry Styles’ Meltdown festival continues until June 21 at the Southbank Center. His ‘Together, Together’ Tour will extend throughout the year, featuring a 30-night stint at Madison Square Garden in New York this fall. The Wembley Stadium concerts in London will continue until July 4.
