Ubisoft Co-Founder Killed in Plane Crash

Claude Guillemot, the co-founder of Ubisoft SA and CEO of Guillemot Corp., died in a plane crash near La Baule Airport on the Atlantic coast. The incident occurred Friday evening when a Cessna aircraft he was aboard crashed in a field before landing.

According to local authorities, Guillemot and another person were on the plane, but did not survive. The airport official released information on the condition of anonymity, citing restrictions on being publicly named.

Guillemot was instrumental in founding Ubisoft along with his four brothers. Established in 1986, Ubisoft is renowned for popular game franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Rayman, and Tom Clancy series.

Ubisoft expressed its condolences in a statement, acknowledging Guillemot’s death but providing no further details about the accident.
