The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently investigating an incident involving a Delta Air Lines flight that performed a go-around at Boston Logan International Airport. This was necessary due to another aircraft departing from an intersecting runway on Saturday.
The FAA, in its statement to Fox News Digital, confirmed, “The crew of Delta Air Lines Flight 2351 executed a go-around at Boston Logan International Airport because another aircraft was departing from an intersecting runway.” The statement also mentioned that the event took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. local time on June 20.
A spokesperson for Delta emphasized the airline’s commitment to safety, explaining that the flight crew adhered to established procedures and coordinated with Air Traffic Control. “As nothing is more important than safety, the flight crew of Delta flight 2351 followed established procedures in coordination with Air Traffic Control and performed a go-around on approach into Boston-Logan and landed safely,” the Delta spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
Delta further informed Fox News Digital that the flight, which originated from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Texas, was carrying 129 passengers and six crew members. The airline clarified that onboard systems alerted the flight crew about possible traffic during descent, prompting the coordination with air traffic control and the subsequent go-around.
Delta stated that their aircraft are equipped with technology designed to notify crews of potential conflicts with other aircraft, which was instrumental in addressing the situation safely. The flight eventually landed without any issues.
According to Alex Nitzberg, a writer for Fox News Digital, Delta reassured that the flight touched down safely at its intended destination.
