Rod Stewart’s Mid-Show Health Scare: Fans Concerned After Recent Concert Cancellations

Rod Stewart, the 81-year-old musician, recently faced a medical scare during a performance in Utah. While singing at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City, he appeared to slow down unexpectedly. In a video obtained by TMZ, Stewart leaned on equipment while performing and signaled to backstage staff who quickly came to assist.

One of the team members brought an oxygen tank, and another applied a cold compress to Stewart’s neck. Standing his ground, Stewart told the audience through the microphone, “The show must go on,” before admitting he “nearly fainted.” Stewart’s representative did not immediately comment on the incident.

Last month, Stewart canceled two Las Vegas shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace shortly before the scheduled performances on May 29 and 30. He canceled other gigs recently, attributing some to health issues. According to the Las Vegas Review, his representative stated, “Following his doctor’s advice, Rod Stewart has regretfully canceled his performances…but is scheduled to return with shows beginning June 2.” Stewart himself shared, “My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest recovering from a sinus infection.”

Stewart faced similar cancellations in California earlier in the month. He expressed his disappointment and apologized to fans via Instagram Stories, saying, “… Following treatment, I’m feeling much better, but my voice is not.” He promised to reschedule the shows.

Despite the health issues, Stewart was seen traveling with his sons to attend a Scotland World Cup match. Some fans expressed frustration over his appearances at the match after the recent concert cancellations. Stewart remains determined to continue performing, stating, “This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love.”
