Amnesty International has reported that Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces, a paramilitary group involved in a civil conflict with Sudanese armed forces, have been accused of systematically targeting civilians in El Fashir, Darfur. This includes acts against children and ethnic cleansing during their occupation of the city last October.
In the report released this week, Amnesty International detailed numerous crimes against humanity. The organization highlighted the severe impact on civilians, emphasizing the targeting of vulnerable groups, including children, within the conflict zone.
While images of soldiers from the group, such as those captured by Hussein Malla in June 2019, show forces in Sudan’s East Nile district, the report focuses on their actions in Darfur. These systematic actions add a grave dimension to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, drawing international concern and investigation.
