An officer from the Garden Grove Police Department, Roberto Machuca, has been taken into custody over allegations of an improper interaction with a juvenile involved in the department’s Explorer program. The program is designed for young individuals keen on learning about law enforcement.
Details from the Garden Grove Police indicate that Machuca, aged 32, was arrested over the weekend and subsequently booked into the Orange County Jail. Jail records show his release on Sunday, but the specific offenses he is under investigation for remain undisclosed.
The authorities, acting on information received last Friday, noted that the probe concerns Machuca’s interaction with one of the youths in the Explorer initiative. This program provides insights into police work for young people.
