A 56-year-old man was found dead in the yard of a residence in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Chicago, on Thursday night, according to officials. The discovery occurred around 8:50 p.m. at a home located in the 2000 block of West 47th Street.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported that an autopsy revealed the man died from multiple injuries attributed to a “dog mauling.” The death has been classified as accidental.
As of Friday afternoon, authorities had not determined the man’s residential address, and attempts to contact his family were unsuccessful. The number of dogs involved in the attack remains unclear.
Chicago Police Department mentioned that detectives are actively investigating the death.
