Four guests were hospitalized after a tree fell near the entrance of Six Flags Over Georgia during severe weather on Sunday. The incident happened as strong storms impacted the Austell, Georgia area, according to Six Flags Over Georgia. They shared this information with Fox News Digital.
In a statement, Six Flags mentioned that during the severe weather affecting the park, medical staff and local EMS attended to four guests struck by a fallen tree at the park’s entrance. These guests were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area Sunday evening as storms swept across metro Atlanta.
Park officials haven’t released the identities of the injured guests or provided updates on their conditions. However, a Facebook video showed the aftermath of the incident with emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and ambulances, at the park entrance. First responders were seen working near several downed trees and large branches.
The person who posted the video described starting with “a relaxing day at Six Flags” before a sudden storm hit, causing the tree to fall near the exit walkway as guests left. They wrote, “Prayers for the people that were hurt.” Reddit users also shared posts showing a large tree fallen across part of the park, with claims that it rested on the Mindbender roller coaster.
There were no confirmations from Six Flags regarding whether any attractions were damaged or if park operations were disrupted due to the incident.
In a related incident, Fox News Digital previously reported another weather-related accident in Florida. At the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, a powerful wind gust sent a metal cabana frame crashing into a crowded pool area. This incident injured five people and occurred at the resort’s rooftop DAER Club. The strong winds partially collapsed the structure into an area occupied by guests.
Videos online showed visitors and employees working together to lift sections of the metal frame to free trapped individuals before first responders arrived. Five people were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as reported.
