Kitten Involved in Attempted Bank Robbery Seeks New Home

A 3-month-old kitten named Magnolia has become an unlikely figure of interest after an attempted bank robbery in Maryland. The young tuxedo kitten was taken from a pet store and involved in a bizarre sequence of events that concluded with the suspect’s arrest.

Unusual Sequence of Events

The suspect allegedly entered Pet Supplies Plus on Baltimore Avenue, grabbed Magnolia, and quickly left the store. Witnesses reported seeing him head directly to a nearby PNC Bank. Upon entering the bank, he asked an employee to hold Magnolia before handing a teller a note demanding cash.

Response and Recovery

Stephanie Stullich, associated with Beltsville Community Cats rescue, received a call from pet store employees about the kitten’s disappearance. As more police units arrived, their focus shifted toward the bank where the suspect was detained. Magnolia was recovered unharmed and safely returned.

The rescue organization humorously remarked on Facebook about the end of Magnolia’s brief ‘life of crime.’

Security footage showed the suspect frequently visited the pet store, always heading straight for Magnolia. Store manager Aaron Kurkowski noted this pattern of behavior prior to the incident.

Search for a Forever Home

Despite her unexpected involvement in the bank heist, Magnolia remains available for adoption. Beltsville Community Cats describes her as affectionate and full of energy. They recommend adopting her with another young and playful cat to match her sociable nature. As she awaits a new home, the group hopes to find her a family filled with love.

Those interested in providing a caring environment for Magnolia are encouraged to reach out to Beltsville Community Cats for adoption details.
