The ESPYS made a triumphant return to New York City on Wednesday, bringing together the top athletes, teams, and memorable sports moments of the past year. After spending years in Los Angeles, the ceremony found its new home at Lincoln Center.
Among the many arrivals, Alysa Liu graced the red carpet, marking her presence at one of sports’ most celebrated events. Notable personalities such as Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha, Mikaela Shiffrin, Ilona Maher, Simone Biles, Myles Garrett, Chloe Kim, and Gretchen Walsh were spotted as they joined attendees at Lincoln Center on July 15, 2026. The ESPY Awards recognized a plethora of talents and achievements. Alysa Liu, honored with the Best Breakthrough Athlete award, showcased the spirit of upcoming sports stars. In the realm of basketball, Stephen Curry was bestowed with the prestigious Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award. Lauren Betts achieved recognition as the best college athlete in women’s sports.
Simone Biles, a name synonymous with athletic excellence, presented the Best Team award. Basketball’s rising star Jalen Brunson took home the Best Athlete award in men’s sports. The ESPY Awards also posthumously honored Jason Collins with the Arthur Ashe courage award, which was movingly accepted by Jarron Collins.
