Crucially, a ladder indicated another access point, later found behind a swinging drawer.
He revealed the secret to the buyers at the end of the inspection. According to Edmiston, the wife’s reaction to pulling on the disguised bookcase was one of terror, quickly turning into excitement as she and her husband explored the unique space.
Edmiston emphasized the importance of property inspections in the home-buying process. They allow buyers to detect hidden defects and assess significant systems before finalizing a purchase, minimizing potential costly surprises.
