President Donald Trump announced that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the United States on September 24. During their discussions, artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to be a key focus.
Trump shared this update during his remarks at the Environmental Protection Agency. He emphasized his administration’s efforts to build more AI data centers, noting, “President Xi is coming over on September 24th. We talked about it when I was over in Beijing, and we’ll be talking about it again.”
Trump described AI as “probably the biggest thing anybody’s ever seen,” stating the importance of the United States remaining ahead of China in the technological race. He remarked, “Whoever wins that race is probably going to win, period.”
The leaders previously met during Trump’s earlier visit to Beijing, where he invited Xi to the White House. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed preparations for Xi’s visit, highlighting the potential for a “very positive” meeting.
