On July 29, 2026, news emerged about the disappearance of Elizabeth Waddell, a North Carolina resident, who went missing during a vacation in Grenada. Her husband, Cailen Waddell, stated that investigations focus on tracking her movements before vanishing and believes there was no foul play involved.
Elizabeth Waddell was last captured on security footage at noon on July 22, swimming off Grand Anse Beach, as reported by the Royal Grenada Police Force. Cailen detailed that eyewitnesses interacted with her later that evening around 5:30 p.m., farther from the shore. He shared, “No detail is too small,” emphasizing the scrutiny of the investigation.
Waddell had been on a three-week holiday with her friend Heather. The concern arose when Heather noticed Elizabeth’s prolonged absence from their shared Airbnb. Heather’s search only uncovered Elizabeth’s towel, with no other traces of her. Cailen noted her familiarity with swimming and expressed his belief, along with others, in the absence of foul play.
