The New Orleans Saints have focused on strengthening their wide receiver lineup this offseason. They selected Jordyan Tyson with the eighth overall pick in April’s draft, along with Bryce Lance in the fourth round and Barion Brown in the sixth. The team also welcomed undrafted free agent Brock Rechsteiner, son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner.
However, during the early days of training camp, the Saints face a setback with one of their rookie receivers. On Thursday, the NFL announced Brock Rechsteiner’s suspension for the first six games of the 2026 season, as noted in the league’s transaction wire. The specifics of the suspension are not disclosed.
Rechsteiner, 23, had an noteworthy college career at Jacksonville State, recording 53 receptions for 629 yards and seven touchdowns over 23 games. Despite the upcoming suspension, Rechsteiner can still participate in practices with the Saints and feature in the preseason. His suspension will commence once the Saints finalize their roster to 53 players on August 30.
Brock Rechsteiner is not the first in his family to explore a career in the NFL. His cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, also known as Bron Breakker in WWE, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 as a fullback. However, he was released after a brief stint.
Brock has expressed his ambition to pursue professional wrestling after football, following in the footsteps of his cousin, his father, and his uncle, Rick Steiner. The Steiner Brothers were honored with induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022.
