Authorities have taken Gabriel Johnson, aged 55, to the hospital following “stroke-like symptoms” experienced while in detention. This situation has left his family deeply concerned about his health. Gabriel Johnson, who arrived in the United States as a teenager, was granted withholding of removal, which prevents his deportation to Liberia.
His daughter, Gabri Johnson, expressed her fears upon receiving a phone call a little over two weeks after her father’s arrest by ICE. “My father, a pastor based in North Carolina, was hospitalized in Texas after suffering a stroke,” she explained. Gabri Johnson has since reported that the family has been kept uninformed by ICE regarding her father’s medical care and his current condition.
