Clancy, aged 35, faces charges of first-degree murder concerning the deaths of her three children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan, in their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023. The prosecution, led by Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague, asserts that Clancy planned the murders. Conversely, Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, argues she is not criminally responsible due to postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder.
Julie Paul, photographed at Plymouth Superior Court on August 10, 2026, is the 61st witness in this trial. On Monday afternoon, she testified for the prosecution, detailing her prescription of psychiatric medications to Clancy and noting Clancy never voiced any intent to harm herself or her children. Paul will return for cross-examination on Tuesday morning. Judge William Sullivan mentioned prior discussions with attorneys that may delay the start, scheduled for 9 a.m.
Should Lindsay Clancy be convicted of first-degree murder, she faces life imprisonment without parole. A jury decision finding her not criminally accountable due to mental health issues would result in her committal to a Massachusetts state psychiatric hospital.
