LaMelo Ball’s Transition to the Timberwolves
LaMelo Ball, known for his impressive car collection, has entered a new phase of his basketball career. Formerly with the Charlotte Hornets, he now plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
To adapt to his new environment, LaMelo has opted to use a personal driver. This decision comes amidst discussions on the ‘Curious Mike’ podcast, where his brother Lonzo Ball mentioned the high spending habits of the young player.
Family Insights on Spending
While on the podcast with Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr., Lonzo Ball revealed that LaMelo, among the siblings, spends the most money. According to Lonzo, LaMelo has collected ten cars, and a personal driver might reduce his risk of road accidents.
Lonzo suggested LaMelo should consider less extravagant vehicles, moving away from high-performance cars like Lamborghinis.
Understanding LaMelo’s Preferences
“He’ll buy a $1 million car and then just immediately f–k it up,” Lonzo stated, referring to LaMelo’s choices. “You could’ve just got a beater,” he added.
Despite reports of incidents, Lonzo clarified that LaMelo doesn’t get into accidents, but encounters various situations on the road.
Lonzo Ball’s NBA Career
Lonzo Ball has had a dynamic NBA career, marked by trades and injuries. Drafted by the Lakers, he moved through several teams, including the New Orleans Pelicans and the Chicago Bulls, before landing with appearances for the Cleveland Cavaliers. His career has been impacted by injuries, leading to long periods off the court.
Reflecting on these challenges, Lonzo said, “It was like a 1,000 and something days,” acknowledging the extended recovery. He has accepted the possibility of not returning to his previous skill level.
LaMelo’s Draft and Team Changes
Drafted third overall in 2020, LaMelo Ball quickly rose to stardom, becoming a two-time All-Star. Recently, Charlotte traded him and his teammate Josh Green to the Timberwolves for Naz Reid and draft picks.
