Organic Dog Treats Align with MAHA Initiative’s Nutritional Priorities

National Dog Day offers an opportunity to consider canine health and wellness, a topic Sarah Goldberger, founder and CEO of Lord Jameson, is passionate about. Goldberger believes dogs should be included in the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative. This program promotes whole, nutrient-dense foods while reducing refined carbohydrates, added sugars, and certain artificial additives.

Lord Jameson’s Nutritional Focus

Goldberger emphasizes that Lord Jameson has never used artificial ingredients. The dog treat company shuns fake food coloring and flavoring, relying instead on real fruits and vegetables for vibrant colors. Inspired by her late dog, Jameson, Goldberger’s brand offers treats made with completely clean, organic, gluten-free ingredients. Her goal is to inspire other pet brands to prioritize health and wellness.

A Shift Towards Plant-Based Medicine

Lord Jameson was founded in 2019, following Jameson’s medical issues linked to medication toxicity. Goldberger collaborated with a homeopathic vet to explore plant-based medicine, incorporating herbs and botanicals into their wellness products. This approach aims to support dogs during healing periods.

Responding to Market Needs

Goldberger’s research, involving more than 1,000 pet parents, revealed common allergies and sensitivities among dogs to animal proteins and preservatives. Consequently, Lord Jameson produces organic, plant-based treats using fruits, vegetables, herbs, and grains.

A Unique Shelf Life

Despite the absence of preservatives, Lord Jameson’s treats boast an 18-month shelf life. Goldberger highlights this as a significant achievement in production. She also notes that the treats aid in digestive health, resulting in firm stools, a common positive review among pet owners.

Specialized Dietary Options

Lord Jameson’s offerings also cater to dogs with specific dietary needs, including colitis and diabetes. Their Love Puffs line, launched recently, includes protein-inspired flavors made with organic sorghum, a grain rich in protein and fiber.

Vertical Integration and Source Control

The company maintains vertical integration, with kitchen, warehouse, and fulfillment center located in Boulder, Colorado. Goldberger points out no price hikes or tariff issues due to primarily North American sourcing. Lord Jameson treats are available in 5,500 independent pet retailers in the United States and internationally in four countries.
