Meghan Markle has been in talks to join the cast of Guy Ritchie’s drama, ‘The Gentlemen,’ for its third season. People magazine reported that despite earlier indicators, discussions are ongoing, but no formal deal has been reached.
Meghan once left royal duties seeking new opportunities. Kinsey Schofield, host of ‘Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered,’ questioned if Meghan’s return to acting suggests this identity suits her best. Meghan tried roles like podcaster and lifestyle entrepreneur but these ventures haven’t been lasting. Doug Eldridge, a PR expert, noted her ongoing struggle to find a distinct post-royal identity.
Her potential role in ‘The Gentlemen’ would be her first substantial acting part since ‘Suits.’ The show stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Giancarlo Esposito, with filming taking place in the UK.
‘The Gentlemen’ series follows Eddie Horniman, who inherits his father’s title as Duke of Halstead, realizing his family estate is linked to a cannabis operation and a reckless brother is sidelined.
Meghan’s career after leaving the royal family has been varied. Her podcast ‘Archetypes’ with Spotify ended after one season. Her lifestyle brand faced delays before rebranding to ‘As Ever’ in 2025. In March 2026, it was confirmed her ‘With Love, Meghan’ Netflix series would continue as seasonal specials rather than another season.
Dan Wakeford of Celebrity Intelligence remarked that a return to acting might be beneficial, citing how past ventures have struggled. He suggested Meghan could focus on finding a standout role, akin to Demi Moore’s success with ‘The Substance.’
Meghan’s Hollywood beginnings included minor roles on shows like ‘Fringe’ and ‘The League,’ and a regular spot on ‘Suits.’ Her experience might make acting a logical fit again. However, skeptics like Schofield highlight the irony of Meghan returning to acting despite efforts to distance herself from it.
