Last year, the Hoosiers reintroduced a bison mascot for the first time in sixty years. The timing coincided with their championship season, making it a memorable reentry. Hoosier the Bison quickly became a fan favorite with his stunning debut performance at Memorial Stadium.
To kick off his entry, Hoosier dramatically parachuted into the stadium. This thrilling entrance was reminiscent of iconic scenes from movies like “Point Break.” The debut was one of the most memorable since Gritty’s infamous performance with the Penguins mascot.
For his second season, Hoosier opted to use a zip line for his entrance. It was an impressive choice, but there was more excitement in store. Hoosier also drove around the field in an IndyCar, entertaining the fans as the marching band played. This unusual combination of a bison driving a racecar on a football field is a perfect example of the unique charm of college football.
