In 2025, the Jets struggled under first-year Head Coach Aaron Glenn, ending the season last in the AFC East with a 3–14 record. Despite the team’s poor performance, Breece Hall stood out by rushing for 1,065 yards, providing some positivity in their ground game. However, the Jets were uncompetitive towards the end of the season, losing their last five games by margins of 23 points or more. This followed mid-season trades that saw key players departing. The offense saw three starting quarterbacks rotate, none of whom surpassed 10 touchdown passes. Star receiver Garrett Wilson missed 11 games due to injury, and the defense set an unwanted NFL record by not securing a single interception.

Yet, the offensive line is not highly rated, ranking 21st according to PFF. On defense, the Jets introduced No. 2 pick David Bailey, Joseph Ossai, and Will McDonald IV to renew the pass rush. Veteran Demario Davis leads the middle. Efforts on both sides of the ball should result in progress, even if marginal.

The Jets are not expected to win significantly more games in the coming season, primarily due to a weak defensive line, which ranks 29th in the league. A subpar line, an uncertain quarterback situation, and limited talent suggest modest improvement. While efforts point in the right direction, expectations for taking vast steps forward remain low.
