Carolla now sees a new trend: residents ready to go “anywhere.” The ease with which people leave strikes him as a symptom of deeper issues in the city. He recalls a time when moving to places like Tennessee was unheard of, joking, “I didn’t know where Tennessee was. What are you doing over there?”
He interprets this shift as indicative of broader challenges in Los Angeles. People are leaving not due to relocation or retirement but out of necessity. “That’s a bad sign,” Carolla asserts. Images of a homeless encampment near Venice Beach reinforce his point about the city’s problems.
