The driveway in front of the actor’s home collapsed, forming a sinkhole. Coastal erosion caused by Hurricane Marie’s activity led to this. The hurricane formed in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in large waves and high tides, according to Fox 11.
Video footage reveals a substantial 30 by 30 foot hole at the front of the home. The wave impact and support beams of the home are visible. Concrete debris and glass fence remnants are apparent within the sinkhole. Orange cones mark the edge for safety.

The City of Malibu addressed the situation on X social media platform. They confirmed their response to the driveway collapse and a related gas leak during early hours on Tuesday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department assisted. They closed the private road and pinpointed the gas leak source.
The City’s Building Safety Division and Southern California Gas Company are evaluating the situation. As of now, five homes are red-tagged, indicating prohibited entry. Authorities continue to assess safety concerns in the surrounding area and provide updates.
No evacuation orders are in place, but monitoring of coastal erosion is ongoing. This includes areas like the Pacific Coast Highway and Westward Beach, facing similar risks due to strong waves and tides.
Cage acquired this 4,000-square-foot beachfront home in 2024 investing $10.5 million, as noted by Realtor.com. It features a modern design with a rooftop deck and an outdoor lounge. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer expansive ocean views.
Cage was not home during the incident and no injuries were reported.
Known for roles in films such as “Moonlight,” “Face/Off,” and “Leaving Las Vegas,” Cage has shared insights into his approach to acting.
