Stella Parton expressed that her sister, Dolly Parton, was at peace before her passing. In an interview with Gayle King on “CBS Mornings,” Stella shared insights into Dolly’s final moments.

“I know she was at peace,” Stella remarked, emphasizing her ability to perceive Dolly’s emotions even from afar. Fans mourned as Dolly, a country music icon, passed away after a cancer battle last month. Yet Stella remembered her simply as a beloved big sister.

Dolly had a lifelong career in entertainment, beginning in her childhood. Raised in poverty in Tennessee, she rose to fame as a TV and music star. Stella recalled Dolly starting her career at ten, which she likened to a bird “flying off.”

Throughout her life, Dolly was married to Carl Thomas Dean for nearly 60 years until his death last March. Stella described Carl as “quiet and shy,” with a deep affection for Dolly. He appreciated her vibrant personality, yet preferred the private Dolly, envisioning her at home in a simple setting.

Stella noted Carl’s passing greatly saddened Dolly, but she didn’t believe it caused Dolly’s illness. Dolly’s relentless work ethic continued until her last days. “That was her passion,” Stella stated.

Dolly kept her political views private, according to Stella, reinforcing her reputation as a savvy businesswoman. Stella shared that Dolly never appeared without makeup, even in private, maintaining her iconic image.

Despite Stella’s political activism on social media, she remarked on the lack of condolences from Nashville’s entertainment circle. “I haven’t had one condolence,” she mentioned.

Stella cherished Dolly’s unwavering optimism. “She was the most optimistic person I ever knew,” Stella said. She hoped Dolly would be remembered for her kindness and creativity, inspiring young people to dream beyond their circumstances. “Her creativity had no bounds,” Stella concluded.
