Far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker emphasized his belief in his “God-given” and “constitutionally protected right” to express his disdain for America during a livestream show on Friday. His comments came in response to an attack ad targeting Democratic Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed for his association with Piker and the streamer’s previous statements criticizing the country.
Piker, featured in clips on the ad, exclaimed, “I hate this country, dude. I hate America,” highlighting his anger towards America, particularly the actions of the government. Despite the provocative nature of his statements, he defended his right to express such sentiments.
“Of course I’m a God—- American. It is my God—- God-given and constitutionally protected right to say I hate America if America is actually f—ing over Americans,” Piker stated adamantly.
He criticized the portrayal of him by liberals and Republicans as an “America hater” while emphasizing that his frustration is with the government’s ineffectiveness in addressing critical social issues such as healthcare, hunger, and homelessness.
Abdul El-Sayed, a progressive candidate running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, has faced criticisms for collaborating with Piker due to the streamer’s controversial remarks. Piker’s controversial statements included remarks about America “deserving” 9/11, which led El-Sayed to distance himself from the streamer during the general election campaign.
Piker, acknowledging his extreme language, defended his comments in an interview at the 2026 Socialism Conference in Chicago. He clarified that his comments were aimed at criticizing America’s involvement in the Middle East and suggested he should have chosen his words more carefully.
Fox News Digital sought Piker’s comments for clarification.
This controversy stirred further scrutiny of Piker, who has maintained his stance despite acknowledging the polarizing nature of his language.
