Riot Fest has postponed the commencement of its third day on Sunday, with the start currently pushed back to 2 p.m. This decision comes in response to overnight rains and the need to address waterlogged park grounds. The festival shared this update via social media, indicating that the revised gate opening time is anticipated at 2 p.m.
Organizers have not yet released an updated schedule for Sunday’s events. The delay follows a premature closure on Saturday, first announced mid-afternoon, which resulted in the curtailment or shortening of several performances. Tool managed to occupy its headline slot at 6 p.m., concluding before a 7 p.m. closing time.
The National Weather Service forecasts continued rain in Chicago until at least 2 p.m., with chances of precipitation persisting until 7 p.m.
Previously, Riot Fest started with mild weather conditions on Day 1, though notable with the presence of punk icon Iggy Pop.
