Chicago police reported the arrest of a man after an unknown woman was found fatally stabbed overnight in the Englewood area on the South Side. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. when the victim was discovered on the ground in the 7300 block of South Emerald Avenue, suffering from a stab wound to her neck. She was transported to UChicago Medicine, where she was pronounced dead.
Following the discovery, officers searched the vicinity and located a man lying on a nearby porch. He had a sharp object in hand and a stab wound to his right arm. The man was also taken to the same medical facility and listed in critical condition.
Authorities recovered a weapon at the crime scene, leading to the man’s arrest. Police have taken him into custody as detectives continue their investigation.
