Olivia Miles Shines in Rookie Season with Minnesota Lynx

The Minnesota Lynx have consistently demonstrated their ability to make smart selections in the WNBA Draft. This year, they picked Olivia Miles, a decision that has already proven successful.

Miles joined the Lynx as the No. 2 overall pick this past spring. The New Jersey native quickly emerged as a standout player. In a recent 101-89 win over the Connecticut Sun, Miles set a new rookie scoring record, surpassing Caitlin Clark’s previous mark. Miles scored 21 points, helping her team secure the victory.

“It’s special, but it means we’re more so working well as a team. I have great teammates around me, great vets who allow me to be me out there,” Miles commented after the game, highlighting the support from her coach and teammates.

This season, Miles has scored 790 points in 40 games. Although the WNBA expanded the schedule in 2026, both Miles and Clark set records in only 40 games. Clark, who plays for the Indiana Fever, scored 769 points in her first season.

Miles, a former TCU Horned Frogs standout, broke several rookie records this season, including hitting eight three-pointers in a game against the Golden State Valkyries. She is also the fastest rookie to reach 350 points, 100 rebounds, and 100 assists, achieving this in just 21 games, outpacing Clark and former Chicago Sting player Andrea Stinson.

The Lynx are currently 32-10, leading the league and holding a one-game advantage over the Valkyries.
