Arrest Following Alleged Assault by Lobbyist’s Son in Los Angeles

Authorities reported the arrest of Jack Modrzejewski, 24, after allegedly injuring his father by ramming into him with a Ford Bronco. The incident occurred at a family disturbance in the 300 block of Mooresque Drive in Pasadena on September 19. Pasadena Police Lt. Monica Cuellar provided details of the case.

Modrzejewski, reportedly intoxicated, attempted to flee the scene when he allegedly struck his father, a well-known Los Angeles City Hall lobbyist, while the father sought to prevent him from leaving. Cuellar stated that the victim stood in front of the vehicle, leading to the alleged collision that left him severely injured.

After striking his father, Modrzejewski reportedly fled, colliding with a city power pipe on Glen Oaks Boulevard. He was later arrested at a friend’s residence on Linda Vista Avenue. His father sustained serious injuries to his leg and pelvis and was taken to Huntington Hospital for treatment after receiving an emergency blood transfusion on-site from the Pasadena Fire Department.

The suspect, who works with LA28 which is preparing for upcoming Olympic Games, was booked for assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence, and hit-and-run causing injury. He posted bail and was released, confirmed by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The district attorney’s office is assessing the case for possible charges. Jack Modrzejewski’s professional background includes support in governmental relations for LA28. His father’s career highlights involve working on significant business campaigns and once serving as the director of policy for former L.A. Mayor Richard Riordan.

The emergency blood transfusion provided to Chris Modrzejewski was part of a new program by the Pasadena Fire Department. This initiative allows paramedics to administer transfusions on the scene, potentially saving lives during serious bleeding emergencies. Delays in transfusion can increase mortality rates, with every minute raising the risk by 2%, according to data shared by city officials.
