Chick-fil-A Introduces New Spicy Sauce Nationwide

Chick-fil-A is introducing a spicy variant of its well-known sauce this year. This marks the first permanent addition to its sauce lineup in a decade.

The Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce will be available in restaurants across the nation starting November 16. Customers can find it in both standard dipping cups and 8-ounce bottles as confirmed by the company.

Chick-fil-A describes the sauce as a blend of its classic flavors with mustard notes, smoky tang, fiery peppers, and a hint of sweetness. The menu team aimed to retain the original’s essence while offering a fresh taste experience.

“We know our guests love bold, spicy flavors, and in our year of newstalgia, we’re turning up the heat on a classic,” said Allison Duncan, Chick-fil-A’s director of menu and packaging. “As our first new permanent sauce in 10 years, Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce delivers a thrilling twist to the signature flavor our guests know and love.”

The anticipation for a spicy version has been discussed by customers online, even before the official announcement. Some fans welcomed the idea, while others questioned if it would be sufficiently hot.

One Reddit user expressed skepticism, saying, “A big pet peeve of mine is so many food items that say ‘spicy’ but aren’t. I’m skeptical of this sauce too.” Another jested about no longer needing to mix the original Chick-fil-A Sauce with Buffalo sauce for a spicy mix.

Research by Chick-fil-A last year showed strong customer interest for a spicy variant of the signature sauce. The chain previously tested spicy chicken strips at two locations in Georgia, reflecting an ongoing exploration of spicy additions to the menu.

Prior to this, Sweet & Spicy Sriracha was the last new sauce introduced in 2016. The original flavors like Honey Mustard, Barbeque, and Polynesian arrived in the official menu in 1984, and the standard Chick-fil-A Sauce achieved nationwide availability in 2006.
