President Donald Trump unveiled plans for a new weapons-testing facility, referred to as a “Super Range,” in Montana during a campaign rally. The announcement was made at the Majestic Valley Arena in Kalispell, highlighting the range’s role in testing advanced technologies including autonomous weapons, space and electronic warfare technology, supersonics, and hypersonics.
Emphasizing the strategic importance, Trump stated that Montana will help maintain American military superiority. The rally was part of his broader campaign efforts in support of Republican Aaron Flint in Montana’s 1st Congressional District race.
During the rally, Trump focused on defending gun rights, making the Second Amendment a key theme. He cautioned that Democrats, if successful, could undermine gun ownership rights, humorously suggesting that wild animals might benefit if American guns were confiscated.
“If the Democrat communists win, they will take away your guns. You know who would love that to happen? Some of the wild animals you have up here that like eating you. The animals would gain a lot of weight,” Trump stated.
The president reassured voters that Republican candidates in Montana, including Flint and Senate candidate Kurt Alme, received high ratings from the National Rifle Association, asserting their commitment to protect gun rights.
Praising Montana’s outdoor culture, Trump mentioned efforts to expand hunting on public lands. He spoke humorously about the significance of specific locations mentioned in his prepared remarks, indicating that they might be unfamiliar to locals.
On economic matters, Trump defended his tariff policies at the rally, arguing they foster wealth rather than inflation. Despite a recent inflation report showing a 3.7 percent increase from the previous year, Trump claimed that his policies were beneficial for American sawmills and aimed to reduce inflation rates.
Addressing Montana’s agricultural community, Trump highlighted changes to estate taxes designed to facilitate the passing of farms and ranches to future generations.
