Kacey Musgraves Sparks Debate with Columbus Comments

Country singer Kacey Musgraves drew attention at a concert in Texas this week by criticizing Christopher Columbus. During the event, Musgraves labeled Columbus as “lame” and “a loser.” Her statement came in light of the national holiday earlier this week, causing mixed reactions among the audience and the public.

Some applauded Musgraves, while others were critical. One prominent figure in country music, Wynonna Judd, voiced her disagreement. Judd appeared on Tomi Lahren’s show, “Tomi Lahren is Fearless,” where she addressed Musgraves’ comments. Judd acknowledged Musgraves has the right to express her views but questioned the appropriateness of the remarks.

“My role is to entertain,” Judd explained, emphasizing that her fans are more interested in her songs than her political opinions. She shared that her grandmother would have disapproved of mixing politics with performances. Judd, alongside Bunnie XO, was recently seen at the “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic Tour” in Nashville, Tennessee.

Wynonna Judd mentioned her philosophy of considering “what would Dolly [Parton] do,” choosing to let her actions speak louder than words. One of the causes dear to her is supporting military service members. Judd expressed sadness when people assume her support for troops reflects a specific political stance.

“I came here for the music,” Judd stated, clarifying her avoidance of politics during performances. Nonetheless, she affirmed her patriotism and support for American servicemen, noting her son’s role as a deputy.

Judd also spoke openly about her relationship with her sister, Ashley Judd, indicating they are currently focusing on their individual lives. Despite political differences, Judd emphasized her respect for the President, showing her loyalty to the nation.
