Nicki Minaj Criticizes Governor Kathy Hochul, Expresses Support for Republican Candidate

Rapper Nicki Minaj, known for her support of Donald Trump, recently criticized New York’s Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul. The comments came after a joking suggestion about Minaj being the next White House press secretary.

In a post on X, Minaj called Hochul ‘evil’ and stated that she would ‘not escape God’s wrath.’ She further encouraged ‘BLACK PEOPLE’ and ‘CHRISTIANS’ to support Hochul’s Republican opponent, Bruce Blakeman. In response, Hochul suggested Minaj should ‘get outside.’

Despite Trump’s declining approval ratings since early 2025, he continues to have celebrity backing, as shown by Minaj’s comments. Polls suggest Hochul is favored to win re-election in New York’s upcoming midterms.

Minaj’s posts on X were direct. She declared, ‘Kathy Hochul is an evil woman. The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them.’ Minaj warned that Hochul was on a ‘downward spiral’ and would face divine retribution.

In a separate X post, Minaj shared a controversial statement Hochul made in 2024 about Black children in the Bronx and their familiarity with computers. Minaj questioned, ‘HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU NEED TO SEE & HEAR FROM THEM?!! HOW DARE YOU AS BLACK PEOPLE VOTE FOR THIS VILE WICKED CURSE OF A WOMAN? HOW DARE YOU AS CHRISTIANS?! SHE STAYS SILENT ON HARM BEING CAUSED TO THE INNOCENT & THIS IS WHAT SHE THINKS OF YOUR CHILDREN! Vote BLAKEMAN!’

Hochul later apologized, stating, ‘I misspoke and I regret it. Of course Black children in the Bronx know what computers are.’

When asked about Minaj’s remarks, Hochul responded with a suggestion for Minaj to ‘get outside’ and avoid Trump rallies, claiming they were affecting her perspective. The response gained traction on social media.

Steven Cheung, White House director of communications, posted a video of Minaj on a flight with Trump, humorously suggesting she could be the new White House Press Secretary. The post went viral, garnering millions of views and likes. The official White House X account reacted with an ‘eyeballs’ emoji.
