A retired NYPD officer, Rodolfo Mienert, residing in Florida, was arrested after allegedly making a threatening social media post. The post called for the beheading of Pinellas County Commissioner Brian Scott following his vote to approve the expansion of a local mosque.
Mienert, aged 68 and living in St. Petersburg, reportedly made the comment on Facebook. He criticized Scott by calling him a “Republican turncoat” and added “off with his head!” The comment was posted using the username “Rudy MineAllmine,” as detailed in an affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital.

The profile picture of the account displayed Bugs Bunny holding a revolver. The account’s bio read, “…if I pissed off a libtard today, I’m happy!! no further reply!!” The account’s last post was a campaign video of Brian Scott, captioned with “DO NOT vote for this person, he voted FOR a mosque.”
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office traced the IP address associated with the post back to Mienert, who confirmed the account’s ownership. The investigation revealed that Mienert attended a county commission meeting on October 27, 2026, where he spoke against the mosque’s expansion, citing environmental concerns and potential traffic issues.
Mienert, expressing his views, claimed to have moved from New York to Florida to avoid such issues. Despite his vocal opposition, he now faces a felony charge of making written or electronic threats. This offense in Florida carries up to a 15-year prison sentence.
“Threatening to cut off the head of a county commissioner because of his vote on a land issue is intolerable and we will strictly enforce the law against anyone who makes threats of this nature,” stated Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.
Mienert, who served 22 years as a sergeant with the NYPD, remains in custody at Pinellas County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
