The 78th Emmy Awards took place on Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Mariska Hargitay hosted, marking the first time in 15 years a woman led the event. “The Pitt” topped the nominations, receiving 25 nods, while “Hacks” garnered 24 in its final season. Apple TV’s “Widow’s Bay” followed with 19 nominations, and “Pluribus” had 18.

Prior to the main event, the Creative Arts Emmys recognized achievements in various categories. Notable recipients included Shailene Woodley, Mariska Hargitay, Bad Bunny, and the late Rob Reiner. “Widow’s Bay” achieved significant success with eight wins, while “DTF St. Louis” received six awards.

  • Matthew Rhys made history by winning two lead acting Emmys in the same ceremony: one for outstanding lead actor in a limited or anthology series with “The Beast in Me”, and another for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series with “Widow’s Bay”.
