Guests Evacuate Six Flags Over Texas Roller Coaster After Power Outage

Guests at Six Flags Over Texas faced an unexpected situation over the weekend when a power outage stopped one of the park’s tallest roller coasters abruptly. The incident occurred on the Titan roller coaster, located at the Arlington, Texas amusement park.

Video footage shared online captured the riders’ evacuation as they carefully descended a steep staircase on the side of the coaster. These images sparked conversations among viewers, many expressing horror at the idea of climbing down from such a height.

The Titan roller coaster stands at approximately 245 feet and reaches speeds up to 85 mph, based on information from Six Flags.

Six Flags officials attributed the outage to an internal technical issue that affected power throughout the park, as reported by local station WFAA. The park resumed operations on Sunday after resolving the issue.

Social media users quickly reacted: “I could never get down from there, not at that height,” commented one TikTok user. Another mentioned, “Would never ride a roller coaster again.” While some raised safety concerns about roller coasters, others defended these attractions, highlighting the strict regulations governing them.

Beyond the roller coaster incident, some guests expressed their frustration with the park-wide outage, which led to long waits and disrupted rides during the day. One guest remarked, “Six Flags always has something happening.”

The Titan has been a prominent feature at Six Flags Over Texas since its debut in 2001. This situation isn’t isolated to Texas, as Fox News Digital reported on another roller coaster evacuation at Six Flags New England earlier this year, where a technical problem interrupted the ride’s cycle on Superman the Ride, leading to a similar evacuation. Park officials ensured all riders were safely escorted by trained staff.

Fox News Digital reached out to Six Flags Over Texas for additional comments regarding the incident.
