President Donald Trump expressed admiration for New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart during an interview on Saturday. Dart, a second-year player, introduced Trump at an event in New York, facing criticism for his decision.

“First of all, I wished I looked just like Jaxson,” Trump remarked. “I said, ‘Is he a male model?’ He’s a handsome, conservative young man. He mentioned, ‘I love you, sir.’ I hadn’t known this. He’s possibly a great quarterback, starting anew, and he drives the team when he plays.”
Trump praised Dart’s potential, emphasizing his promising future in football if he remains healthy.
President Trump also reminded of his 2024 presidential election victory over Kamala Harris, asserting his triumph with wide support across various U.S. counties.
Despite criticism, Trump acknowledged that Dart’s attachment to him garnered additional support, stating, “When Jaxson gets a bit of criticism, he’s also more loved because our numbers exceed theirs.”
Dart faced backlash even from teammate Abdul Carter for his association with Trump at the Suffern event. Carter remarked, “Some things transcend football, and this is one of those instances.” He highlighted his responsibility towards his values, expressing opposition to Dart’s decision publicly.
Dart explained his decision, stating that his upbringing influenced his choice to meet the president. “It was a unique opportunity to introduce the President of the United States,” Dart shared. He emphasized his deep respect for the presidency and his family’s military background. “My views stemmed from my long-standing love for this country,” he noted.
