A search is ongoing for a gunman after a tragic incident at a high school graduation ceremony in California left one person dead and three others injured. Authorities are actively seeking the suspect, following the shooting at Fairfield High School.

Police received reports of gunfire in the parking lot of Fairfield High School at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The incident occurred just after the graduation ceremony for Sam Yeteo High School concluded, as attendees gathered for pictures.

Officer Michelle Belyea, representing the Fairfield Police Department, confirmed that four individuals were shot. ‘One is deceased and three others are receiving treatment at local hospitals,’ she reported. Information regarding the identity or the extent of the victims’ injuries was not disclosed.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. Officer Belyea did not provide additional details or a description of the suspect involved in the incident.

In a post on Facebook earlier on Wednesday evening, Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez mentioned an ‘active shooter chase’ taking place in Fairfield, indicating the seriousness of the situation.

This remains an evolving situation, with updates expected as more information becomes available.
