Trump Comments on Hunter Biden’s Potential Presidential Run

Former President Donald Trump commented on the possibility of Hunter Biden running for president in 2028. During a conversation with Fox News, Trump’s remarks followed a question from Peter Doocy about Biden’s potential in the 2028 Democratic primary.

Hunter Biden gained attention on social media, sparking rumors about his political intentions. Trump’s response to inquiries about Hunter’s potential candidacy was mixed. He humorously suggested that if candidates with controversial backgrounds, like Maine Senate hopeful Graham Platner, could succeed, then Hunter might as well.

“I would say his past is not the greatest,” Trump responded. “Hey, if the guy from Maine can do well, well, I guess Hunter could do well too, because the guy from Maine is a basket case.”

Platner, the candidate in question, has faced various controversies. Allegations against him include a deleted Reddit account, questionable tattoos, and personal scandals. Despite these issues, Platner remains competitive in his attempt to challenge incumbent GOP Sen. Susan Collins.

Trump also drew comparisons between a potential run by Hunter Biden and James Talarico, the Democratic Senate nominee from Texas. He remarked on the possibility of success for Hunter, referencing Talarico’s resemblance to Alfred E. Neuman and suggesting that if Talarico could perform well, Hunter might be able to as well.

Further, during an event centered on coal energy investments, Trump shared his observations of President Joe Biden’s mental state following a private meeting after the 2024 elections.

“No, not really. I mean, he was the same guy I’ve been watching for a long time,” Trump said, dismissing suggestions of cognitive decline during their interaction in November 2024.

Trump further noted that President Biden appeared consistent with his past self. He humorously noted that Biden may have shown some changes during debates, though this could have been influenced by Trump’s own presence.

Fox News Digital reached out to representatives of both Trump and Hunter Biden regarding these comments.
