Arrest Made in Death of Actor James Handy

The Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrest of Michael Gledhill, 44, in connection to the death of actor James Handy. The arrest took place on Wednesday following a troubling 911 call.

Officers responded to a report of “unknown trouble” around 9:30 a.m. in the 19200 block of Erwin Street, Tarzana, Los Angeles. The call involved someone stating, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”

Upon arrival, authorities discovered Handy, aged 81, unconscious with a stab wound to his chest in the front yard. He received medical attention at a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Gledhill reportedly flagged down officers at the scene, admitting, “I was the one they were looking for.” He now faces one count of murder. Authorities set his bail at $2 million, and he is currently held at Van Nuys Jail. Gledhill resides with his mother in the home where the incident occurred.

James Handy was recognized for his roles in films such as Arachnophobia, Jumanji, and Top Gun: Maverick.
