A spokesperson from Students for Life, Lydia Taylor Davis, faced aggression from a group of Antifa protesters during Turning Point USA’s Women’s Leadership Summit in San Antonio, Texas, over the weekend. The group gathered outside the convention center, where Davis noticed their intimidating behavior towards attendees. Davis approached them with a microphone, aiming for dialogue; however, chaos ensued.
“I attempted a conversation to have a peaceful exchange,” Davis shared with Fox News Digital, “yet was met with hostility and accusations like ‘Nazi’ and ‘fascist.'” A video captured the Antifa members coughing, using a siren, and throwing water at her. They also shouted derogatory chants.
The backdrop to this encounter was the mocking of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Kirk died on September 10, 2025, after being shot during a speech at a Utah Valley University event. One protester impersonated Kirk, complete with a mask, derisively depicting his death. Davis expressed her dismay at the disrespect shown towards Kirk, a fellow advocate in the pro-life movement.
In the recorded confrontation, a masked individual endorses political violence, saying, “I support assassinating fascists,” but refrained from discussing the term ‘fascist’. Other protesters screamed insults, trying to disrupt the summit.
Davis discussed the irony of being labeled as a fascist by those applauding Kirk’s death—a stark reminder of the current societal climate. She highlighted the deeper significance of events like these, underscoring the fragility of free speech.
At Utah Valley University, Kirk had been speaking at his “American Comeback Tour” when fatally shot in the neck. His efforts in the pro-life arena left a lasting impression on colleagues.
Given the potential threats in the conservative field, Davis takes precautions. She employs security personnel and dons a bulletproof vest while attending events.
In this tense atmosphere, the importance of involvement in movements like Students for Life remains evident. Davis called for participation in this effort against a ‘culture of death.’ She credits their impact, noting that many are converted to the pro-life stance after witnessing the opposition’s aggression.
While calling for inclusive dialogue, Davis concluded, “Our movement champions truth and peace, proving that meaningful disagreements can occur without resorting to violence.”
