According to a new report by the Pew Research Center, the American political scene is more complex than the simple division between red and blue. The center conducted a survey involving over 10,000 individuals, revealing nine distinct groups based on political and cultural values. Although the political climate is often seen as polarized, the findings show that only a minority of Americans are firmly aligned with either major party.

Amna Nawaz engaged in an insightful conversation with Jocelyn Kiley to uncover more about these findings and their implications. Nawaz’s experience as co-anchor and co-managing editor of PBS NewsHour enables her to provide in-depth analysis and understanding of current political dynamics.
