Late Night Hosts Mock Trump’s Commemorative Coin

In a segment filled with humor and satire, late night hosts took aim at former President Trump’s latest venture: selling gold commemorative coins. These coins were launched to coincide with the UFC ‘Freedom 250’ fight hosted on the South Lawn of the White House, marking Trump’s 80th birthday. The coins, designed by Trump himself, feature his image and are priced up to $12,000.

Desi Lydic of ‘The Daily Show’ expressed disbelief at the exorbitant price. ‘Twelve thousand dollars for a coin? Does it come with a used Honda Civic?’ she quipped, highlighting the absurdity of the price tag.

Lydic added that commemorating a UFC fight with a coin seemed odd. ‘Seems like the kind of thing you’d commemorate with a tramp stamp,’ she joked, further questioning the suitability of such a product for UFC fans.

In her comedic style, Lydic poked fun at the clash between UFC culture and decorative coin collecting. ‘The only thing I love more than fighting is cherishing sweet memories with decorative coinage,’ she said, mocking the unlikely combination.

‘This is classic Donald Trump,’ she continued. ‘No amount of money is too small for him to try to grift someone out of. The guy will skim off $2 billion with a global crypto scheme one week, and the next, he’ll try to steal your uncle’s beer money with a coin that’s got his face on it.’

Jimmy Kimmel joined in on the fun, noting Trump’s knack for selling his supporters money they can’t actually spend. ‘You really have to hand it to Trump. I mean, it takes a special kind of con man to sell your supporters money they cannot spend any place.’

Both hosts delivered punchlines that resonated with audiences, bringing humor to the bizarre intersection of professional fighting and decorative coins.
