Bahrain Incident Involving Iranian Drone
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior reported that debris from an intercepted Iranian drone injured an 11-year-old girl. The incident also led to damage to homes and vehicles. Bahrain’s interior ministry described Iran’s actions in the region as ‘sinful.’ The shrapnel fell following the interception and destruction of Iranian drones, affecting areas such as Hamad Town and the capital, Manama.
Photos shared by the ministry depicted firefighters extinguishing a blaze in a building and a burnt-out car. First responders are currently addressing the situation.
Anti-U.S. and Anti-Israel Protest in Beirut
Supporters of the Iran-backed group Hezbollah gathered in Beirut’s southern suburbs for a protest against the U.S. and Israel. Organized by the International Popular Committees to Resist Aggression, the protest drew people carrying portraits of Iranian leaders and waving flags. The protest coincided with Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, which reportedly killed at least 12 people. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on Lebanese citizens to oppose Hezbollah.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Missile Claims
The Revolutionary Guard of Iran claimed responsibility for launching ballistic missiles at a U.S. airbase in Jordan. According to Iranian state TV, 12 missiles targeted the Al Azraq airbase. The missiles aimed at facilities housing F-35, F-15, and F-16 fighter aircraft. There has been no immediate response from the Pentagon regarding these claims.
Kuwait Reopens Airspace
Kuwait briefly closed its airspace due to Iranian attacks but has since reopened it. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation stated that normal operations have resumed at Kuwait International Airport. The situation will continue to be monitored to ensure safety.
U.S. Strikes in Response to Drone Incident
The United States launched ‘self-defense’ strikes following an Iranian drone’s destruction of an American Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump asserted that Iran would ‘pay the price’ for its actions.
